Explore Cape Kiwanda

Details

Added by Kimberley Kacho

Cape Kiwanda offers amazing photography opportunities with a great opportunity to get up close if you have a kayak or SUP. There are also plenty of tide pools to explore.

Cape Kiwanda is part of the Three Capes Scenic Route. It offers sea stack rock formations, beautiful beaches, sand stone cliffs, and if you are lucky enough, amazing wildlife. It is the home of the Pacific Dory Fleet.

If you are early enough, you can catch the fisherman coming and going in the mystic fog, that happens so often in the Pacific Northwest. After just a short hike up a steep sand hill, you'll get incredible views of Nestucca Bay to the south, and Cape Lookout to the north.

If you're looking to spend the day at the Cape, you may want to bring a kayak or SUP with you as it's a great chance to get closer and explorer the rock outcropping along the coast. And, if there's a swell running, this can be a really fun place to surf!

Once you're all set, it's not a bad idea to grab a cold one at The Pelican Pub and Brewery.

Beautiful Place!

This was one of my favorite locations on our 2016 road trip. you could look around for hours and never get bored. Unfortunately we went to see Duckbill rock and it had been destroyed without us knowing, all aside this place was gorgeous.

Amazing Place

One of my favorite places to visit during anytime of the year. It's so relaxing and happens to be right at the beach. There's also a tall sand dune that is fun to climb. Definitely a place to visit with family and friends for a weekend getaway.

My Favorite Place

I absolutely love the pacific city and kape Kiwanda area, amazing food and service at the pelican brew pub. The surf break is great for surf kayaking, sups and surfing in general, some decent hiking on the dune
