Neahkahni Mountain reaches nearly 1,700 ft. Starting your hike at nearly sea level, you will experience a healthy elevation change in this coastal hike. Located just outside of Tillamook in the Oswald West State Park, this hike is a good challenge for adequate hikers. You will need to park along the coastal highway. This hike can also be hiked as a loop or in and out trek. If you decide on the loop, you will have to travel alongside the highway to get back to your car. The view is easily the best part of this hike. There are not many along the Oregon coast that reach this high and on a clear day you can see for miles! The top of the hike will involve maneuvering up some rocks to reach the top where you can rest and snack. I would not recommend you go when it's raining because the trail can get muddy and slippery. On your way back go ahead and stop by at the Tillamook factory and get some delicious ice cream and cheese!
