Description

This is a beautiful hike with a fantastic mixture of rocky terrain and green mossy forest. You almost feel like you're in two different worlds throughout this hike.

To get to the trailhead of this hike, you must drive down the historic highway 242 in Willamate National Forest. At certain time of the year the gate will be closed but you can opt to travel on foot to the trail head. (Roughly an extra 20-30 minutes). Once you reach the trail you will soon find yourself in a rocky, volcanic like environment. Soon after you will decent into a completely different world and continue your trek in a green/mossy forest. There are two falls to visit on this hike. You will come across a sign pointing in left and right directions, indicating which falls are in which direction. The falls to the left are very narrow but extremely beautiful nonetheless. It is always a fun time climbing to the top. However, the falls to the right are where you want to spend the majority of your time. Proxy falls has a way of reminding you just how small you are with her massive drop. I would highly recommend (unless it's too unbearably cold) standing under the falls and feeling Proxy's power splash on your back.
