Camp & Hike Mt. Ashland
Ashland, Oregon
Description
Added by Nienna Komorebi
Camp with the clouds & wildflowers near the peak of Mt. Ashland in Oregon.
This campsite is free, has bathrooms and at least 10 spots to choose from. Some of the most epic sunsets I have seen in this life were from the peak of this mountain, which is a short couple miles from the camp site. The array of wild flowers in the summer is amazing, they blanket the surrounding mountain.
The PCT can be found by walking down the road below the campsite, a large map at the trailhead makes it easy to find. :)
There is no water at this camp, so pack in all the water you need and there is no garbage so pack out all of your waste.
The wind can be very mighty in this area, even in the middle of summer, so bring plenty of blankets and warm clothes!
The town of Ashland isn't too far from the mountain, heading North on the 5. They have a lovely Natural Foods Store on first street, and I highly recommend Dobra Tea (huge variety + great quality) which is down town, not to far from Lithia Park.
