This is an amazing 3-4 hour backpacking hike through the snow for about 3-4 miles to Scout Lake. 

Starting at 4,500 ft elevation you pull off of Highway 20 to Whitewater trailhead. Elevation gain is 1,800 ft throughout the whole hike. This hike can be done anytime of the year depending on the weather conditions. Once you reach Scout Lake, the view is breathtaking. The total duration of the hike depending on how much is in your pack and the time of year, it averages around to 3-5 hours.
