This trail is a short and sweet hike that offers a variety of activities, along with unbelievable views.

With a wide variety of ways to access the bald, this is an ideal hike or backpacking trail for almost everybody. From a short quick hike, to a difficult loop, this place has something for everybody. The quickest and easiest route to the balds is via the art loeb trail. There is a parking area to leave your car along Black Balsam Road. Once on the trail, the vegetation begins to thin out and a panoramic view of the mountain ranges begin to unveil. No fires are allowed on the bald.  Keep in mind, the weather on the balds can fluctuate very quickly and are usually colder than Asheville!
