Picnic Area

Enjoy a paddle along the northern most portion of the Schoharie Creek.

The boat launch area offers a nice picnic area with charcoal grills.  This is where the Erie Canal crossed over the creek by an aqueduct.  You can see the partial remains of the aqueduct.

You can see several species of birds and if lucky enough maybe even a Bald Eagle.

This is also where the Schoharie empties into the Mohawk River therefore, If you choose you can also paddle into the Mohawk River.

This is a beautiful area with lots of history.  Enjoy the Schoharie Crossing as well https://www.theoutbound.com/ne...

Rebecca Nichols Explorer

I hike to push my limits both mentally and physically, take in the beauty of the great outdoors, and just to get away from it all. Every chance I get you will find me in the mountains, on a kayak or ending my day by the campfire!
