This 700 acre waterway offers an abundance of wildlife and forest for a true wilderness experience..
Traveling along Cedar River Road you will reach the Moose River Recreation Area at approximately 12 miles. Here you can park at the Wakely Dam. You will see the launch area to the right of the dam. Put in at the Wakely Dam and paddle the 3 ½ miles to where the river comes into the flow.
This beautiful river is located in the Moose River Plains Wild Forest of the Adirondack Mountains. The river is surrounded by the scenic Adirondack Mountains. There are plenty of camping spots near the dam in which you could car camp and many more primitive sites reached only by water, which offer a great lunch spot if not occupied.
Wildlife is abundant including Common Loon, Mallard, Mergansers, Osprey, Herring Gull, and Red-tailed Hawks nest to the northwest of the Flow. Even a possible Moose sighting if given the right time.
You will not be disappointed with all this beautiful area has to offer.
