Walk through an official tree farm to a cliff line with a great view of Loon Lake below!

This hike starts along Ben Culver Road at a road side pull off with room for several cars.  You will the trail sign and register from the parking area.  

This is an easy to moderate hike which meanders through an official tree farm.  You will reach a beautiful cliff line.  You will have views of Loon Lake below, Gore, Meade/Beckman Mountains and more.

Please be sure to remain on trail at all times and respect the property owner.  As always Leave No Trace!

This trail is also part of the Chester Challenge.  This challenge also includes Meade/Beckman, Green Hill/Catamount & Stewart Mountains, Chester Creek Trail, Palmer Pond, Cougar Nature Trail & Dynamite Hill/Caroline M. Fish Memorial Trails.  Visit any six of these trails and you can receive your choice of pin or patch for your completion.

The parking area is along Igerna Road and offers space for about four vehicles.  The trail and register start from the parking lot.

Hike to Palmer Pond

Parking is at the end of Palmer Pond Road, it will turn into a dirt road and the last 0.2 miles is a little rough.  Just take your time and even with a car you will be fine.

You will start this hike following the blue blazed Schaefer trail. Though the sign shows 5.8 miles to the summit it is actually only 5.0 miles.
