Climb Coney Mountain

Rate this Adventure New York Coney Mountain Trailhead

Added by Rebecca Nichols

This short hike offers big rewards with its large open summit featuring 360 views including the Adirondacks High Peaks.

This newer trail offers a parking area; however, it can get busy. There is ample parking along the wide shoulder of Route 30.

The trail is easy to follow and marked with blue discs. This well built trail takes you on a steady gradual climb to the open summit with one moderate grade pitch on open rock just below the summit.

There are 360 views featuring Goodman, Mountain, Blue Mountain and the high peaks.

This mountain is part of the Tupper Lake Triad. You can climb Coney as well as Goodman Mountain & Mount Arab Fire Tower to earn a patch. This is a great family challenge to involve young children in.

I hike to push my limits both mentally and physically, take in the beauty of the great outdoors, and just to get away from it all. Every chance I get you will find me in the mountains, on a kayak or ending my day by the campfire!

Hike the North Point Loop

New York / Butter Hill Trailhead

There is three different trailheads to access the North Point Loop.  I chose the trailhead that would give me the longest hike.  That would be the Butter Hill parking area on Route 9W north.
