Stunning views from the top. Especially in the fall.

After hiking the amazing gorge trail at watkins glen, you can make your way to the top of the staircase leading you towards the north entrance and then take yourself off the beaten path to the abandoned railroad for some stunning views. Be very careful though as there are no side rails to hold on to. Probably not a good idea to bring kids. There is not really a trail to follow anymore and last time I was there it was actually roped off but I just went around it. You will see a bridge overhead to the left after climbing the stairs. Follow the bridge and you will find your way to the tracks.
