Foxes, foxes, foxes. If you love wildlife I highly recommend this spot - a wide range of birds also live along this preserved island.
There is much to explore this park, the largest undeveloped barrier island in New Jersey. The seaside front consists of dune covered tall grass and narrow maritime forest, while on the bay side many herons can be viewed, as well as other wildlife.
Many of the paths are easily accessible and lead directly towards the beach through sand dunes. Horseback riding is permitted, as are four wheel drive vehicles with a permit. The entry fee is $5 for NJ residents; prices change during the summer months. Spend at least half a day here in order to visit the multiple paths.
