Camp Davis State Park and Camp Sites
Searchlight, Nevada
Description
Added by Observant Apparition
Beautiful river-side camp site. Very nice people taking great care of the place, rangers on site, and water and power hookups. Pet friendly, and check out is 12, but you can stay at the park all day if youd like. Great place for get togethers or for solo camping, even just hanging out for the day. Great spot!

Explore Nelson Ghost Town
Driving from Henderson, NV, you can take the scenic HWY 165 to the Ghost Town of Nelson. Stop and check out the trading post to learn more about what you're visiting. There are lots of old buildings (some open to the public), old cars, buses, and ruins of an old mine.
Hike Rock Spring Loop Trail
The Rock Spring Loop trail is an easy to follow 1.5-mile hike in the Mojave National Preserve. The hike starts in the parking lot, where you walk through a gate, past a sign welcoming visitors to "come on up", to the historic Rock House. The Rock House is about a tenth of a mile up the trail from the parking lot and is the official start to the Rock Spring Loop trail.

Camp on an Isolated Mesa
From the Hole in the Wall information center, drive north on Black Canyon Road. Table Top is a fairly identifiable mesa to the east. Pick what you think is a suitable approach point and park your car in a dirt pullout. Grab your backpack and make a beeline for the mesa, straight through the desert. There is no trail here, so pick your way through the scrub. Be careful, you'll likely need to tr...
Canoe Camp from Willow Beach to Hoover Dam on the Colorado River
First off, there is a lot of paddling involved...nothing too crazy, but just consistent. Most people start from the Hoover Dam and just float/ paddle down to the Arizona Hot Springs/ Camp and then finish at Willow Beach. But that also involves permits and you need to book it at least 6 months in advance.
So instead, our route was: Start at Willow Beach, AZ., paddled 8 miles upstream to camp at ...
Canoe Black Canyon on the Colorado River
This 10-mile canoe trip starts at Willow Beach and reaches all the way to the Hoover Dam, giving you front row seats to beautiful canyon walls, waterfalls, hot springs, (sauna) caves, hiking trails, and much more. There are multiple campsites along the river but not all have pit toilets so bring your own TP and prepare to wag-bag it. There is lots of opportunity for cliff jumping, however, the ...
