Camp at Many Glacier Campground and Explore Many Glacier
Browning, Montana
Description

Located within walking distance of the trailheads in Many Glacier, Many Glacier Campground is the perfect place to stay for easy access hikes and adventures!
The Many Glacier Campground is open from 5/20 to 9/25 (primitive camping is available outside of those dates) and has 109 sites. From 6/14 to 9/5 half of the sites are reservable online here and the other half are first-come first-serve, a great alternative for those without a set itinerary. However, those sites are in high demand and fill up quickly. You can keep an eye on the fill up times by checking out this link. I recommend arriving as early as possible. I arrived at around 8:00am on a Wednesday and was able to snag the last remaining campsite.
Many Glacier is the perfect launching point for some of the most stunning day hikes in Glacier National Park. Take a 9.9 mile round-trip hike to Iceberg Lake and observe icebergs floating on the lake year-round or opt for the 12.2 mile round-trip hike that will take you to the shores of the impossibly blue Cracker Lake. The Grinnell Glacier trail is also located in Many Glacier and at 7.6 miles is the perfect length for a day hike and offers an up-close view of one of the last 25 glaciers still remaining in the park. If you are up for a challenge Swiftcurrent Pass is a 14.2 mile round-trip hike that offers sweeping mountain views.
In addition to hiking the area offers other activities as well! If you are interested in a more relaxing day there are canoes and row boats you can rent from the Glacier Park Boat Company behind Many Glacier Hotel. Paddling around Swiftcurrent Lake is the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
Finally, at the end of a long day of hiking or rowing you can grab a hot meal from either the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn or Many Glacier Hotel restaurants and reminisce about the beautiful sights you saw earlier in the day!
