Situated in Leelanau State Park, Grand Traverse Lighthouse is one of Michigan's many lighthouses to explore. Outside the lighthouse has great spots to sit down and catch sunrise, sunset, or even the stars.
Starting from Leelanau State Park's pay station, continue driving straight ahead until you hit the closed off piece of road with barriers around it. This street is closed for all cars and only foot traffic is allowed. There are several spots to park making it convenient to park and walk in. Continue walking straight ahead and you will reach the lighthouse. The lighthouse offers tours usually during the day and during Summer. There are small paths that also lead down to the shore from the lighthouse that provide incredible views of Lake Michigan and some stunning sunsets.
