This is one of the few backcountry campgrounds in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. It's a 3 mile roundtrip hike uphill to the campground. There are 5 sites available, only 2 with a fire ring, so get there early.

You will have to have a permit and a Sleeping Bear Dunes parking pass, you can obtain these at the D.H. Campground.

Getting there: Go north on M-22 past the town of Glen Arbor. The Homestead Resort is on the left; you'll turn right on Westman Road, and then left on Hyland. You'll see a parking lot on the left, right after you turn on Hyland.

Hike to Big Glen Lookout

Start at the Alligator Hill trail head and make your way up the hill for roughly .1 of a mile until you hit a marker. Turn left at the sign and keep on the trail for another 1.3 miles.
