This hike is unlike most I’ve done before because rather than hiking along the coast, you’ve got the ocean crashing on either side. Nowhere else in CA have a seen elk, and they were everywhere along the hike. At the end of the point we were able to climb around the rocks and bluffs to find a lunch spot before heading back.

This is my go-to hike when friends from out of town come to visit. It is an easy path to follow with terrain that is friendly to all levels of hikers. My favorite thing about this trail is that it is only about 15 minutes from Oakland, but as soon as you are about 5 minutes into the hike, you are surrounded by trees and forget that you are so close to a major city. When you need a break from the traffic and noise, but don't want to drive too far, this is the spot.
