The beginning has several switchbacks that may leave you winded but it is so worth it. Once I reach the loop, I usually go to the left. The trail meanders through the canyon to a beautiful view of the ocean. The best time is late April/early May when the wildflowers are in full bloom. Be sure to take the trail up to the view point once you reach the top!! It's easy to pass by as it is not marked. A wonderful place to stop for a snack and enjoy the vastness of the ocean. I've seen a few Condors from up there. Enjoy!

An absolutely enchanting stroll through Ireland's history. Braveheart was filmed in these mountains!

Stumbled across this trail on the way to Tropic! Amazing 😍

My favorite place in all the land! I've been here over a hundred times and it never gets old. I always walk the perimeter, parking on 1, walking in, taking first right at information sign, walk to the ocean then left towards Whaler's cabin, walk down to the scuba parking lot, up the stairs, follow the ocean. Eventually there is a small beach to your right, during March/April, harbor seals are birthed here, it's amazing! For an added treat, hike up to Whaler's Knoll for a spectacular view, hardly anyone ever goes up there. Follow the trail to the parking lot and go through the cypress grove loop,, excellent whale watching, I saw 100's of orca whales once! Go back to the parking lot and continue to follow the perimeter all the way back to the beginning. Amazing in rain or shine! Love love love Pt. Lobos.
