This place is awesome, close to downtown and right off of the road. We first went in June and there was still way too much water flowing through the river to swim. Went back early August and it was a perfect pool. Definitely the coldest water I have ever been in!

Looking for a new profile picture!? This is the spot

Went up late september and still plenty of snow to ski! Not very good snow but still fun to get some turns in. There is also a cliff that you can jump but the water is absolutely frigid. Swim out and check the depth because late summer the water drops and it can be extremely dangerous if you don't know where the rocks are. Stay safe be cautious, know before you go!!!

Lost lake is one of my favorite alpine lakes to fish. Towards the end of June the water starts boiling with fish rising to take dry flies. Water is clear, spot fish and lead them with your cast. I have not seen any fish in Wheeler Lakes, it is completely overrun with salamanders. After the first climb the trail levels out and is very easy going. Great views of Copper Mountain most of the hike!
