Avid traveler and hiker, exploring as much of Australia as I can!

The pictures really don't do this place justice! And, I second Benedikt on the water- it gets hot here. There is some accommodation about 30 minutes from the park entrance. When I went in September, there were few crowds and temperatures were bearable in the morning.

Seeing Remarkable Rocks at sunset provided for some awesome lighting and less crowds. This area of the park is absolutely stunning!

Those into history would love the sites and history behind this walk, the scenery isn't terribly exciting though compared to some of the other trails closeby. You can also rent a bike from the visitor shop and do the same trail, or take a hop-on/hop-off shuttle bus (both for a fee).

I was surprised at how big this crater was! There's a small crater (or geothermal springs?) off to the side as well that is even more colorful

Just the coolest damn icebergs. And seals!

This hike reminds me of driving across Kansas. The first twenty minutes, the desolate landscape is awe inspiring. An hour later, it's still the same and mind numbing. It's worth it though, as the plane is really really cool! The landowners have closed the road to vehicle traffic so you'll have to hoof it. There is a car park on the right side of the road 2km past highway 221 (if traveling east).

This was a nice short walk to a great hot pot! I went in the late afternoon and there were ~10 other swimmers. I'll echo the shoe statement- definitely no flip flops for the rocky portions! I found the cleanliness in line with what you'd expect from a natural hot springs (and totally acceptable for me!)

Nice neighborhood trail, the little fern offshoot was very pretty. My dog loved all the swimming opportunities closer to the trailhead. If you're looking for a secluded hike this probably isn't your best bet, we saw many other trail runners, hikers and pups on a Saturday morning.
