Very nice boat trip to the site and once there very nice trails. You can hike across to the Atlantic beach side from the lighthouse. The living quarters have very interesting information and artifacts. Well worth the trip.

Nice short hike that loops by a wetland then next to the beach with access. We viewed several wetland bird species and new fauna on this short hike. Not shaded so bring water in the summer.

Very well laid out visitors center with much info and artifacts of the fort and the surrounding area. The fort is well preserved and the displays are very interesting. The quarters are air conditioned if you get too hot during the summer, nice place to slow down, cool off and see and read about the artifacts. Several miles of trails to take from loops to out and backs. We enjoyed the visit.

You can start at the base and hike up to the dam or park at the dam and loop back. Pretty view from the dam looking down the river. Wide trail for both hikers and bikers.

I have hiked this trail several times in fall and especially beautiful in fall. A few artists come with pallet and easel to paint the colors reflecting off the water. Very easy hike and some interesting spots along the way. Good parking and trail markings.

My wife and I hiked this trail without this app and knew it was a 2 mile loop but did not know the elevation change. Very nice hike with a nice stream and old homestead ruins on top of the hill past the stream on the right. The trail is well maintained but you need to park on the road unless you are in a truck.
