The water is so warm it was actually surprising. The lagoon under the falls is beautiful & fun, the jump is intense and exhilarating. Above the falls, there are small water holes that are very fun to explore. The bottom is small gravel, not painful for my older kids but I put water socks on the 2 year old. They had a wonderful day and we had to return the next day for more. The creek (river?) is easy to access from the parking lot, there are bathrooms and it is very clean, which was awesome. I definitely recommend it on those hot 100 degree days that hit the Stanislaus county.

This is once-in-lifetime experience. If you are in the area, it is a must see. If you are not in the area, it is well worth the drive. The trees are incredible, and being in the grove brings a sense of calm & reflection that few places on Earth can provide. You will not regret this. Side note: We brought our two year old- she was definitely carried after about 10 minutes on the easiest trail. Steep inclines, and “beginner” here means “you should already have some hiking experience or you may panic at how steep the hill is” Lol. Regardless, the experience is incredible and unforgettable.

We had a great time; it is beautiful & also interesting to see the tufas & wildlife around Mono Lake. We brought our 2 year old, the trails are easy & she was entertained and able to enjoy the walk.
