Explore Vasquez Rocks, CA
Santa Clarita, California
Description
Added by Scott Bender
This is an amazing scenic landscape perfect for hiking, exploring, adventuring, and killer photographs.
Vasquez Rocks is less than an hour outside of Los Angeles and is well worth the drive.
It is a 932 acre park that formed over 25 million years ago. It gets its name from a notorious Californian bandit - Tiburcio Vasquez - who hid from law enforcement within these rock formations. You may even recognize it from moves like Star Trek, Bill and Ted, The Flinstones, or TV shows like Power Rangers and FRIENDS.
We went out here to explore some climbing only to find that there is no longer any routes set up (that we could find) but you could still boulder. Either way it is a great place to walk around and explore with some hiking trails and perfect picnic spots.
You'll most likely see a camera crew out here as well since this place is so photographic on it's own that it makes for a great backdrop for other entertainment gigs.
