If given the chance to spend a night in Joshua Tree, even if just for the night do not pass up the chance. On a recent road trip from north to south via Highway 1 with an extra day to burn before flights home we took the chance to visit the desert for a night.Indian Cove campgrounds is located just off of 29 Palms highway and provides some of the best camp spots I have ever experienced. Each site is nestled into beautiful rock formations giving the feeling of privacy and a silence I've never experienced in a public campground before.While the camp spots are more than ideal the real attraction is the amazing clear skies and view of the stars. You could easily spend all night staring up at the sky keeping count of the parade of shooting stars. Take a camera and a tripod to capture the stunning scenery, and make sure to leave the rain fly off of your tent so you can continue to enjoy the show from your bed for the night. Make sure to wake up with the sun to catch one of the colorful sunrises on the desert as well.
