Sanctuary Farm Log Cabin Getaway
Alberton, Montana
Experience Montana in this cozy log cabin, complete with wood stove and forest views.
Hike, snowshoe, watch wildlife, grill hot dogs at the outdoor fire circle by the creek, or stay in and have a glass of wine while watching Dances with Wolves. Take a conscious rest from your busy day. Retreat into nature's quiet for an earth-friendly stay. The cabin is shared with our sewing room, where we sew tepees, & during your stay, you will have privacy. We look forward to hosting your stay!
Close to hiking, fishing, cross country skiing, Lolo hot springs, and lots of wildlife, Sanctuary farm is a gem of a get-a-way in Northwest Montana. Take a farm tour of the gardens, milk goats and chickens, enjoy the beautiful creek, and forest bathe on the property or the adjacent National Forest.
The kitchen area has a refrigerator, toaster oven, hotplates, crockpot, coffee pot, coffee fixings, pots and pans, plates and whatnot. The toilet is a composting toilet (the area has a fan that keeps the air fresh). The space is heated in winter with a wood stove and space heaters. Also, check out our yurt!
You will have access to the main floor of the guest cabin (upstairs is storage). Access to the bedroom requires you to take a few steps in the sewing room, and the woodstove is in the sewing room as well. The entire space is beautifully appointed. We are in the sewing room when we are not hosting guests...it is our sewing room, and not a commercial venture, other than we do sell kids teepees at craft fairs and farmers market. You are also welcome to explore the property, use the fire pit (please let us know in advance), pet the goats, and take walks up into the national forest.
We are up in the mountains, and there is no cell phone coverage here. There is a landline phone in the guest quarters. The line is shared with our house but you are welcome to use it for calls within the USA. If you visit in the winter, we keep the woodstove going for you while you out, as that is the main heat source for the cabin, and coming home to a cozy cabin is super important! The floors are not heated, so please do bring your slippers in the winter or your feet will be cold. Also, as with many cabins in the north, you will be cozier if you bring a sweatshirt or fleece.
We also offer our legendary sourdough waffle breakfast sandwiches for purchase, and get many rave reviews on them.
