Wooded campsite in the beautiful capital region of New York.

Quarry Ledge woodlands are located in the Helderberg Escarpment of New York State. This companion range of the Catskills and Adirondacks is distinguished by unique terracing formed by its native blue stone. Indigenous Americans made “Indian ladders” from whole trees using their branches to climb the steepest terrace faces.

The Quarry Ledge woodland protects more than 100 acres of flora and fauna that are characteristic of a mountain forest ecosystem. Within this ecosystem you can find a wide variety of plant and animal life.

We have preserved Quarry Ledge woodland forever wild so it can be an island of refuge for its inhabitants and a restful retreat for humans.

‘Noticer' walks, fossil hunts, pond slogs and plant/tree id treks can be arranged and tailored to your visit. All profits from rentals and activities go to support the 501c3, renew-the-earth.org.“

It is remarkable how many creatures live wild and free though secret in the woods.” H.D. Thoreau
