Red Door At Maine Wildwalkways
Georgetown, Maine
When we bought the land the VW door was there, leaning on a tree overlooking a beaver pond! It still is 30 years later! Where's the rest of it? A spacious, tranquil site with great pond views and fire pit.
We are unique! Our 6 site forest campground has a park-like feel with BIG Spacious sites, privacy and creature comforts!
NNOTE IN ADDITION TO ANY BOOKED DAYS YOU MAY SEE...THIS SITE IS ALSO TAKEN JUNE 5 AND 6 AND JULY 29.
This is tent camping the way it should be, with a wilderness feel but
CREATURE COMFORTS such as clean, enclosed portable toilets and running water at each site.
COMING FOR THE FALL COLORS ALONE IS WORTH IT
Red Door Site overlooks a large, scenic beaver pond with water lilies and cattails. The sounds and sights of frogs, birds and deer are all about. Only a short walk to the larger pond--full of birdlife, great for canoeing. A mile long logging road is nearby for hiking or biking and it leads to a dramatic salt marsh.
We have 100% positive reviews from another hosting site where we get most bookings.
At WildWalkWays, NO one is crammed in like sardines.
All sites have their own water spigot and soft bed of pine needles for your tent ...you will sleep well.
Wildwalkways is in a pristine, coastal Maine forest near Bath Maine and famous Reid State Park. There are so many "goto" places nearby in the mid coast area. The Georgetown general store is within biking distance. (a nice wine selection for a small store) Five Islands Seafood on the dock has great food-minutes away! Historic Bath is 12 minutes away. Popham fortress is a must see.
The Red Door Site is only a 3 minute walk from parking.
COMING FOR THE FALL COLORS ALONE IS WORTH IT
