It’s easy being green in this unique 3BR, 3BA adobe Carpinteria ranch home (sleeps 6) set in the midst of plump avocados! Kick back in the big yard by the pool as Pacific Ocean views surround you, or hop on Freeway 101 to Santa Barbara, Ojai and Ventura.

A tranquil hideaway on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific ocean between Ventura and Santa Barbara, just above world famous Rincon Point, and minutes from the seaside town of Carpinteria and its World's Safest Beach.

Rancho Mesa Escondida (Hidden Mesa) is a working organic avocado and citrus ranch with lush orchards and beautiful views of the ocean, canyons, and mountains. Spanish-style home owned by the family for 4 generations was built by master adobero Pete Aquilar with adobe soil from the site and is furnished with Spanish antiques. The house and gardens provide a private, peaceful setting.


The living area with antique furnishings below vaulted ceilings. Sofas and armchairs surround a wood-burning fireplace, and a dining area drenched with light from a wall of glass doors seats 6.

Outside, a patio with outdoor dining offers views across the ocean and Los Padres mountain range.

In the kitchen, find stainless steel appliances, wood countertops, and original cabinetry paired with lovely views.

The primary suite features windows looking at the sea and is slightly detached from the main house with one connecting hall. There’s a king bed, antique furnishings including a Moroccan birdcage, and a TV. Curl up on the sofa, write at the desk, or step out to the yard from a private door. An en-suite bath has a shower/tub combination.

The second bedroom has a king bed and Spanish antiques. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and farm-style vanity. The third bedroom is separate, accessed via glass sliding doors, and hosts 2 twin beds, a sofa, and an original desk. It too has an en-suite walk-in shower.

Outside, a large pool is surrounded by Adirondack chairs, and a pathway leads to the vegetable gardens. Set on 18 acres of avocado trees, there’s no shortage of space!


A shared laundry facility is available.

The pool can be heated for an additional fee of $50/day.

This rental is a full house, but the third bedroom shares a wall, with no pass through, to another occupied apartment. The expansive grounds and working farm are maintained by employees during the day, and the owners live in a separate home on the property.

Your reservation total includes tax per CMC section (b) for Vacation Rentals and section (b) for Home Stays. All mandatory taxes are included.


Rincon Beach Park is moments away, just below the ranch is popular with surfers, but you can swim, picnic, explore tide pools, or birdwatch too. Head to the nearby Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve, where you’ll find trails and scenic overlooks with views of harbor seals.

Santa Barbara is 15 minutes away, or head inland to Ojai (20 miles). Ventura is also a quick drive down the 101.

Simple things like leaving the property tidy, running the dishwasher, and taking out the trash are expected of our guests.If excessive wear and tear is found on property, or additional cleaning is necessary due to spills, trash left on site, unclean dishes, stains to furniture, carpeting, linens, paint, wallpaper, or flooring, Guest authorizes the Owner to bill them for additional fees. If at any time the maximum number of occupants is exceeded or if the Owner receives information about excessive noise, Owner has the right to evict Guest and all occupants immediately and to bill the guest a minimum service fee of $250. If any sign of smoking is discovered Guest authorizes the Owner to charge the guest a minimum $500 cleaning fee. Unless the rental policy specifically allows, if any sign of any pet is discovered Guest authorizes Owner to charge the guest an additional minimum $500 cleaning fee.Properties are fully furnished properties that will include bedspreads, linens, blankets, pillows, towels, a fully equipped kitchen, TV, furnishings unless otherwise specified.Travel Insurance is highly recommended for any stay.Please note that you may be required to execute additional agreements in order to comply with TurnKey's Terms of Service, HomeOwner's association rules or local laws or regulations.
