Prairie Creek Cabin
Orick, California
The private deck of this classic log cabin makes for the perfect spot to watch and listen to the sounds of the forest animals. Toads croak in the nearby creek. Elk graze in the meadow. Leaves of the Redwoods rustle in the breeze.
Come and have breakfast with the elk at Elk Meadow Cabins. Watch elk graze right from your cabin window or stroll out to the meadow with a cup of coffee to see the majestic Roosevelt Elk up close. An incredible view of the pastures is visible from every cabin.
Our charming wooden cabins are nestled under the shade of the towering Redwoods. We’re centrally located in the heart of Redwood National Park’s southern gateway, near Fern Canyon and the beautiful North Coast beaches. We are just a few miles away from many uncrowded and unique coastal destinations. Build a sandcastle, fish, hunt for agate rocks, explore tide pools, watch for whales, or just lay back and relax in the warm sunshine.
Out here in our forests, you can experience the magic of our ancient old-growth Redwoods. Redwood National Park is one of the 23 UN World Heritage Sites in the United States, with a surviving remnant of trees that have existed for 160 million years. The park contains some of the tallest and oldest known trees in the world. Steps away from your cabin, you can take a scenic hike through these woods.
Head north to Fern Canyon where you can hike, bike, or drive to this must-see natural phenomena. Fern Canyon was formed millions of years ago by a retreating sea that left the steep canyon walls now covered by 10 different fern species. The incredible scenery of Fern Canyon was used in the movies Jurassic Park, Lost World, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
Come and experience the magic of the meadows and the mysteries of the enchanted forest. Discover the beauty of Elk Meadow Cabins on a getaway quite like no other.
