Moon Song Farm
East Durham, New York
Campsite off the beaten path, in a pretty happenin' resort town with lots to do nearby- just 2 hours from NYC
We offer peaceful woods camping tucked in behind a private meadow on a beautiful horse farm at the base of the Catskill Mountains. There is something for everyone here, no matter what pace you like to take your vacation.
Located 1 hour South of Albany and 2 hours North of NYC, you'll come to a busy fun town in the scenic Hudson Valley with lots to do, and the ability to camp just far enough away that you can have total peace and quiet.
Moon Song Farm is home to some friendly horses, a black cat named Stormy, and lots of wildlife including whitetail deer, songbirds, and a few different kinds of owls and frogs that will serenade you to sleep. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful here, so free to come down and have your morning coffee or evening beverages with the horses. There's always something to do, and several great places to eat in East Durham if you decide to go out. We can e mail you a list ahead of time if you'd like to get familiar with what's in the area. Our town also hosts several events and festivals throughout the year including the Irish Cultural Festival, Irish Arts Week Festival, Gray Fox Bluegrass Music Festival, and Catskill Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Festival.
We do not offer horseback riding here but you can book a ride with our friends nearby at K&K Equestrian Center (Ask us about reservations and rates for our campers)
Nearby there’s also hiking, fishing, golfing, zip lining and mountain biking at Windham Mountain Adventure Park. The Catskill Creek runs through town and there are plenty of swimming holes around to cool off on hot days. The famous prehistoric underground cave-Howe Caverns- is also less than an hour drive from Moon Song Farm.
This site is equipped with an outdoor bath area for privacy for the camp loo and sun shower, which is provided for you to fill at your convenience. We also supply toilet paper, wipes, hand sanitizer and trash bags.
•
•We clean and disinfect our campsite paying attention to areas most commonly used in-between groups staying at the farm and we will not accept new bookings for a minimum of 24 hours following previous campers checking out.
•
•
We do not supply bedding or pillows for sanitary reasons right now but if you need extra blankets or towels let us know and we can provide some.
Campers are welcome to use the electricity down at the barn to charge cell phones or whatever else you need to power. And if you think you’ll need internet access while you're here, check our "Extras" for info on WiFi.
