Medomak River Farm
Waldoboro, Maine
A private campsite on 128 acres of conserved farm and forest located in Mid-Coast Maine
Your campsite is located in a lovely forested spot with beautiful salt-water views and access.
A winding drive leads directly to the tent site that sits just above a wide expanse of the Medomak River (you will need a vehicle with ground clearance and preferably all wheel or 4 wheel drive). Looking left, you will see the Narrows, where the brackish river becomes true ocean.
The Medomak is well known for its pristine waters which attract kayakers, SUP's, fishermen/women, swimmers, and bird and wildlife watchers. We are located directly across the river from the Osborn Finch Preserve, and upriver from a number of National Audubon Society holdings. At low tide, you will see small skiffs carrying clammers to the shore where they work hard to dig what will be steamers on dinner plates up and down the coast of Maine. After a busy day of hiking, biking, beaching, swimming, kayaking, shopping, dining, vineyard or brewery touring, and farmers market visiting, come on back and catch a beautiful sunset from your west facing campsite.
Don't forget your bug spray! Mosquitoes and ticks can ruin one's day! We provide basic kitchen tools, sauce/fry/boil pans, and setting for 4. The queen size bunk beds have comfy mattresses. Dry hardwood will be in your tent for the stove. There is lots of dead-fall throughout the woods for the fire pit or we have prepared bundles available by donation- donations go to my children who prepare the wood and 10% to the charity of their choice.
Just far enough away from civilization-but close to everything!
