Grist Creek Ranch

Covelo, California

Remote Mountain Campsite Hideaway in beautiful Round Valley, CA

If you seek natural beauty and solitude, look no further! Grist Creek Ranch campsite is located on a 475 acre ranch on a hill in one of California's best kept secrets, the beautiful, unspoiled and still wild Round Valley. The campsite is extremely private, nestled among valley oaks with no people or lights in any direction. At night, we have some of the lowest light pollution in California, and our starry skies are unrivaled. Named "Nature's Hide-Away" by its tiny population, this 30-mile, flat, green (in Spring) valley is surrounded by often snow-capped mountains and bordered by the fish-filled, raging Eel River. The nearby Yolla Bolly Wilderness area continues to boast the highest density of wildlife in the state, and is a great destination for campers seeking hiking trails, fishing, nature photography and numerous other outdoor activities. Grist Creek Ranch is close to the quaint town of Covelo, home to two fully stocked grocery stores 3/4 mile from the campsite, an excellent Italian restaurant, a library, a couple of sandwich shops and 2 gas stations. If camping/fishing gear is needed there is a huge True Value store approximately 12 miles from the site. Grist Creek Ranch is only 3 Hours 18 minutes from San Francisco and 2 Hours 15 Minutes from Santa Rosa. We can't wait for you to visit!
