1 hour west of Albany, NY, and 3 1/2 hours from NYC. Hoofbeats is a sanctuary for horses and the people who love them. Pack a bag. Bring a cooler. That's it! We fully stock your campsite so that you can enjoy a creek-side stay on our 120-acre horse sanctuary, nestled in a secluded, 12-acre mature forest, with THREE fire-pits and a small PRIVATE ISLAND. Enjoy a hike on our marked trails along Flat Creek or nearby you can go cave spelunking, kayaking, or eclectic shopping in the Historic Village of Sharon Springs. Join us!

The forest at Flat Creek Island in the fall season is perfect for a Memory-making Romantic Trip, Family Fun, or Weekend Getaway for the horse lover. Meandering Flat Creek has been flowing here for generations and created a small, unique island just a few steps from your expedition tent. Cross the footbridge and spend the night enjoying one of our THREE stone fire-pits. Be entertained by the soft neighs and nickers of our horses. Our friendly, socialized herd will delight you with their natural beauty. NOTHING has been forgotten. Your cabin tent has a high-efficiency propane convection heater to keep you warm and toasty in the cool fall evenings, two rechargeable LED lanterns and it is layered with the comforts of home. Your beds will be made with pillows, freshly laundered linens, and blankets, and bath towels are tucked away in a side table where you will also find bug spray and fun board games! A rain shelter covers your picnic-cooking area and your outdoor kitchen has a full-size propane cook stove, a stone charcoal pit for grilling, and a fully stocked camp box. We include cookware and utensils, dishes, silverware, and serving pieces. Instant coffee, tea, mugs, tea kettle, sugar & stevia for your morning wake-up. 10 Gallons of fresh-water are set up and available for you in convenient dispenser containers. For a unique "Nature Bath" outdoor solar shower experience, enjoy the comfort of a spacious, wooden privacy shelter with a transparent roof and a composting toilet. We have LOTS of wood on our forest floor if you like the fun of foraging your own fire-pit "fuel", (kids LOVE this), but also DRY SPLIT HARDWOOD and all the supplies you need to create an easy, beautiful fire (paper, kindling, lighters, and firestarters), are stored in a waterproof box right near your tent. At NO EXTRA COST to you. We even provide four camp chairs for enjoying an evening around the fire. During the harvest season, visit "Parsons Farm Stand" (and tell Kenyon and Rita we say Hi!) on your way to the nearby historic district of quaint and quirky Sharon Springs where you will find shops, eateries, & old-world architecture. Take home some homemade wildcrafted jelly or honey from our farm store. Visit local Breweries, Winery’s, Cavern Tours, Zip-Lining, Glimmerglass Lake, The Farmers Museum, Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame, Kayaking & Hiking....are all close-by! Let us help you make amazing memories this weekend.
