Get a good night's sleep at this quiet KOA before exploring the area. This classic campground offers many opportunities to visit the area's natural, historic and man-made attractions. Whitewater Falls, the tallest series of falls east of the Rockies, offers easy viewing and access. Stumphouse Tunnel is a "cool" place to visit, especially in summer. Clemson University is 15 minutes away for family and friends attending graduation, summer camps or athletic events. The South Carolina Botanical Garden is located on University property. Learn about local species at Wallhalla State Fish Hatchery, or rent a pontoon boat on nearby Lake Hartwell and catch your own fish. Greenville is 30 minutes away, with great restaurants and festivals; Anderson also offers terrific dining options. This KOA is close enough to Atlanta to drive down for the day; plan to leave the campground from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. so you can miss the city's morning rush.
