Street Art in Phoenix's Roosevelt Row

Stretch of Roosevelt Rd. serves as an arts and culture district for downtown Phoenix.

One of my favorite areas in Phoenix, hands down, has to be Roosevelt Row (RoRo). This area runs along Roosevelt St. in downtown Phoenix and serves as an arts and culture district. It features small businesses, coffee shops, eateries, bars, live music and small art galleries. A lot of the businesses are in cute little houses with creaky floors.

My absolute favorite part of this area, though, is the street art. Almost all of the buildings feature murals and beautiful graffiti art.

It seems, unfortunately, that there is some fighting and protesting over this area. Developers want to take this funky area, tear it down and put up housing developments. I visited this area towards the end of January, so I'm not too sure what has changed since I left.

I don't understand why anyone would want to destroy this area though. There is art everywhere you look. It's funky, fun and refreshing. The first time I walked through this area, I was in heaven. I absolutely love street art, seeing as I come from a large city.
