From California. Pretty sure I might be part mermaid, but while I still have legs I'll hike as much as possible!

This is the best chillin spot. That's all I have to say. BEST. CHILLIN.' SPOT. I go here all seasons.

Ok, first of all WOW! This hike was amazing, such a payoff for a relatively quick hike. The ascent was challenging, but the view of Lake Tahoe and Fallen Leaf Lake was incredible. Serious note...I don't think there are wolves in Lake Tahoe, but 5 minutes into the hike 3 deer ran across the trail quickly followed by 2 giant wolf like dogs. We spent the rest of the hike carrying big sticks. Lake Tahoe NEVER disappoints!

This place was awesome! There were a few moments that I thought my little car was going to get stuck on Kidd road though (especially after it started to torrential downpour). I drive a mazda 3. We made it out, and I now have more respect for my car! We went yesterday (mid september), and it was pretty cold and rained, but even though we didn't swim, it was still an awesome place to hang the hammocks and chill. We also parked at the warming hut.

This campsite blew me away, really beautiful and a peaceful place to sleep. But when we ran into the water to swim in the morning we were greeted with swim suits full of baby jellyfish! It makes for a hilarious story now (running naked back to the car after tearing our swimsuits off in the water), but that was a bit of a shock!

This is what summertime in Texas is all about. Great spot for a swim!!

This beautiful and elegant waterfall is a relatively short hike and is right by the Crescent Lake lodge. Easy hike to do before you leave the lodge on checkout day.

I'm kind of in love with the Ape Caves. Being a person with an active imagination, being in basically a natural subway tunnel of darkness and silence, my mind was blown. And my little headlamp was not enough...next time I'd go with a bit brighter than the average headlamp.

This hike is short, and the reward is awesome! Beautiful falls and a great example of why the PNW is just rockin!

There is a spectacular bayan tree if you venture farther back into the woods! I wanted to live in that tree forever!

I love this beach. My sister and I camped here and slept in our hammocks! Awesome place to play in the waves, and great hikes near by!

My sister and I just pulled our jeep over and slept. We wanted to watch the sunrise and didn't have our tents. No one bothered us about permits, so I can't speak to that. There was a variety of campers ranging from families to groups of happy hippies. Rad rad spot. And the roosters wake you up early, so you won't miss the sunrise!

I LOVE this park. There is so much to do; swim, hike, mountain bike. Dog friendly and a great place to bring kids!

Spectacularly beautiful, however EPICALLY crowded. These trees demand a sort of decorum, but anytime there's a crowd there will be noise and people being disrespectful of the trees. But it's still worth seeing.

This view is not to be missed!!

This park (and this trail in particular) is beautiful all year long! It's spectacular in the fall though when the trees are changing.

This is an awesome spot to jump in and cool off after hiking in the park. The Blue Hole trail isn't that long, so it's an easy spot to get to even after hiking on other trails all day. My friend and I jumped in to wash our selves off after camping for a few days.

This trail was beautiful! I was surprised by the amount of people who seemed slightly unprepared. Wear good hiking shoes, and bring water. This seems obvious, but the amount of people I saw without water and wearing sandals was surprising. This would also be a fun spot to MTN bike, beautiful, soft red dirt that would look beautiful on your tires! Cheers.

As a west coast transplant to Texas, I've found myself occasionally underwhelmed by hikes in the Lone Star state. There aren't too many "heart pounding, exciting" hikes outside of West Texas, but Caprock Canyon delivered! Great elevation gains, red rock rising high above your campsite, this place was RAD! Camped this past March, and the weather was perfect. I definitely recommend.
