Born and raised in Arizona, I have a deep love of my home state! When I'm not working, you'll find me on a hiking trail, swinging in a hammock or paddling a kayak. And I'm always on the search for the next perfect camping spot.

I had a birthday party here when I was younger, great spot for a gathering after being out on the trails! Tons to do nearby, and the scenery is beautiful.

This is one of the many sites that are right next to Woods Canyon Lake, and as with all the others, is VERY busy. Well maintained, takes reservations, great spot for families. Definitely recommend if you're not looking for solitude!

Busy, but much like the other sites close to Woods Canyon Lake, it's well maintained. You'll hear your neighbors, but if you're fishing or kayaking the lake, this is a great spot!

This is a great site, much like the nearby Rim Campground. Well maintained, but busy. You can definitely hear your neighbors, so if you're looking for a bit more solitude, I'd check out 9350 bit down the road. But if you're okay with the people, this a great site, very close to Woods Canyon.

You're definitely close to your neighbors in this site, so if you're hoping to not hear your neighbors, I would check out 9350 down the dirt road a bit. However, if you're looking to be close to Woods Canyon Lake, this is a great spot!

This is my favorite maintained campsite in all of AZ. It's stunning, but know that you'll be very close to you neighbors (so you'll hear them). It's also super busy. So if you're looking for solitude, I would choose some dispersed camping away from the ruckus. Reservations are required for this site - and they book EARLY. Closes in winter.

Beautiful sites next to Oak Creek, MAKE RESERVATIONS. This is one of the busiest sites outside of Sedona. Really nice hosts.

Just a few miles outside of Prescott, this camping area is well maintained and has lots to offer (horseshoes!). Quick drive to the lake and great hiking trails. Great for families!

If you're looking for solitude, this is not the spot :) It's well maintained and beautiful, but you'll definitely hear your neighbor. Also, just a short drive to the Forrest Lakes on the rim, where you can fish and kayak.

Well maintained, flush toilets, established fire rings - if you're looking for this type of site, it's a perfect one! And super close to Lynx Lake, with kayaking and great fishing. Definitely recommend!

I wish I would have allowed more time fro this, there is soooo much to see. We saw the must-see spots, but the next time I'm in DC, I will 100% visit again (and make a day of it)!

You can't go to DC without visiting this spot - and this is 100% the best time to go! Better photos, less crowds.

This is a decently pretty hike in the spring and fall months, but you should definitely go in winter (bring your spikes, it get's slippery). The main reason is that the waterfall freezes, and it's stunning.

Beautiful, but soooo crowded! That being said, it's 100% worth wading through the crowds to throw a coin in the fountain. Surrounded by so many delicious places to eat, it was a highlight of our trip!

This place is crazy! So beautiful and a great slot to watch skilled surfers catch really powerful waves. Surf only if you’re experienced!

My father lived in Newport for 10+ years and we would walk this pier every time I visited. Get some ice cream, watch the sunset. Wonderful spot!

My husband ran this, I took more of a meandering stroll :) Views from the top were spectacular! There was a good amount of people at the top, but not too bad.

One of my favorite things to do in San Francisco is find a local park/green space and have a picnic! This is a great spot for doing exactly that. Very popular on weekends, though. Beautiful views.

I try to visit botanical gardens when I travel, and this was a spectacular spot. But please do allow for most of the day, I only had a few hours and I didn’t see nearly everything. Beautiful way to spend a day!

Very popular picnic spot, just make sure to watch out for flying frisbees! This is a pretty park and a great spot to relax and people watch.

My mom and I stayed here while road tripping to Saguaro National Park and Chirichaua National Monument. Fabulous experience, loved every second.

This is the coolest experience EVER! While it's a little ways away from the Grand Canyon, I would never consider staying anywhere else. My hubby and I had a fabulous time.

Start early, it get's hot quickly! And Camelback is ALWAYS busy, so be prepared. Make sure to practice proper hiking etiquette (people coming up have the right of way) and bring more water than you think you need. And also, know your abilities. You don't want to be one of those people that has to be rescued by the Phoenix FD :)

Great place for a sunset hike (bring a headlamp!), it's short but get's decently challenging. Bring more water than you think you need!
