The hike is a quick 2-miler. Get amazing views and a photo or two of the lake. Be prepared for a slick road if you do this in the winter. Duration: <1 hour.

This quick 2-mile RT hike takes you to a lookout point above the Stateline of California and Nevada. The road to the lookout is paved so beginners can make the trek to the top in the summer; winter covers the road with snow, so snowshoes or boots are recommended. The lookout offers spectacular views of North Lake Tahoe from Incline Village and the east shore to Tahoe City and the west shore. The lake lights up for sunrise and sunset so bring your camera to get some epic photos of the colors reflecting off the lake.

The Stateline Lookout Road is paved, but the road can be covered with snow in the winter or very slippery when the snow is melting in the spring.

Park on the right side of the road; be courteous as parking is located on a neighborhood street. You will see a yellow gate on the left; this is the lookout road that you take to the top of the lookout.

Quick Hike and Photo Op at Stateline Reviews

This was an awesome hike. We had a family of 5 with children aged 1, 5 & 6. We used a stroller for the infant and the other children was able to complete the entire hike. The hike begins with about a 3/4 mile uphill paved hike. Once to the top there is a blacktop smaller paved path which provide panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. There are benches and one picnic table along the path. Fun for entire family.
