Great Vista View of Lake Tahoe on South Shore

The Tahoe Rim Trail gives visitors so many great vista points of Lake Tahoe. This is one of my favorites.  A beginner's hike of the Kingsbury / Bratovich Trailhead on the Tahoe Rim Trail.

A Short Three Mile Loop that features Castle Rock. An inviting volcanic feature that is fairly easy to climb and allows you to sit on top with an uninterrupted view of Lake Tahoe.

The Trail starts in the Kingsbury North Parking area off Kingsbury grade: From Hwy 207 just W of summit turn N onto Benjamin Dr (which becomes Andria Dr) and drive 2 mi to dead end. Limited roadside parking no facilities.

The trail loops around then after reaching what will seem like the bottom the trail goes right and heads back up to Castle Rock.  After Climbing Castle Rock you come back down that trail and then head right to complete the loop.

The loop has several exits so once on your way back stay left at first split and it will take you back to the parking area.
