This was a great hike! Even on a hot and humid day. This trail canopy is so dense it felt about 10 degrees cooler. The trail itself is narrow and we got lost on intersecting trails a few times but with the help of the trail map we were able to easily figure out how to get back on the White Bank Trail. The view from the cliffs over the Chesapeake Bay were gorgeous! We saw a few bald eagles and osprey from here. We also saw a few coal skinks and some black tiger swallows. All in all a wonderful hike! Ps bring lots of water, bug spray and wear hiking boots!

I spent my summers boating in Beltzville Lake as a kid but was not aware of these trails or the Wild Creek Falls. These trails are really good with a lot of interesting views. The yellow trail is easy but with a lot of varied views in deep woods and meadows. If you venture off the beaten path when you hear the sound of the falls you will find the top of Wild Creek Falls. Beautiful! The green trail is steeper and more difficult but worth the effort as it takes you down a steep incline to the creek. We saw chipmunks playing there. The blue and white trail is fairly steep buthis will get you to the bridge that takes you to the base of Wild Creek Falls. Seriously a hidden jewel! Take the time to do this hike! It’s so worth it!

My love surprised me with a weekend getaway to the Delaware Water Gap last fall. Part of that trip was hiking the red trail at Bushkill Falls. It’s definitely touristy but people were very kind and gave me space to do long exposures of the falls. Honestly the day we were there very few people were hiking the red trail so as we moved along it got less crowded. It’s definitely worth the money.

We went on this hike in early July, thankfully we arrived early because this waterfall got crowded very quickly. The hike is pretty easy, even the hike to the top of the falls is. We had a great time swimming in the creek. I was pretty disgusted with how much trash was left behind though.

My kids and I spent the day exploring Cape Lookout Lighthouse and the island it is on. The Park Rangers were amazingly helpful and where so good to my boys who were full of questions. We climbed to the top of the lighthouse and had the best views! Can’t wait to go back and explore Shackleford Island and see the wild ponies!

We started this hike at 7:30am and had the entire trail to ourselves. We took our time and enjoyed the sound of the water. This is not a difficult hike, though in order to get to the top of the water fall you have to scale some of the cliffs on the sides. Really beautiful and clean.
