The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
I hiked this January 16, and while there was snow on the trail the entire way, snowshoes were not necessary. The scenery was beautiful and the lookout point was breathtaking! We started the hike later on a Saturday afternoon and only saw a handful of people at the very beginning of the trek. Definitely recommend this as a great day-hike for anyon in Denver.

This is a must-do in the area. It offers breathtaking scenery of the valley below and is perfect for one of those days that you want the views without the effort of hiking!

This is a pretty easy hike to the beautiful Franz Josef Glacier. It's really a shame how much of the glacier has receded since 2008 (when it entered a rapid phase of retreat). Just more of a reason to continually make efforts to preserve our environment and areas like these. Make sure you take the chance to see while you can!

A relatively easy hike that's rewarded with a beautiful view. It only took a couple hours to make this hike, but we spent several hours hiking around the lakes to get different perspectives once we made it there. There's also several spots to have a nice picnic!

What an unforgettable view! I made this hike when there was still several feet of snow on the ground so it was some tough going to reach this point but totally worth it. We started around dawn and had to push the last few kilometers on the way back to make it down before sunset- so make sure you leave plenty of time during the shorter days of fall and winter.

Absolutely love Garden of the Gods. It's a stunning place to witness the power of the earth with its unique rock formations. If you're looking for a place to stay in Colorado Springs, I stayed at the Garden of the Gods resort and from your room you can see the sunrise over Pikes Peak and the Gardens. Truly unforgettable.

Discovery Park was my frequent escape when I lived in Ballard. Perfect spot to watch the sunset or have a beach picnic!

When I visited this area I decided to stay on Tonsai Beach instead of nearby Railay and it was a great choice. Both beaches are beautiful but the more authentic vibe and deepwater soloing can't be beat on Tonsai.

My favorite part of visiting Kuala Lumpur! It's amazing to see all the ornate carvings in the cave. Beware of the monkeys- they may be cute but they're ruthless!

By far the most incredible part of Arches National Park. Truly a special experience as there are no trails throught the area, so you create your own adventure. Be sure to get a permit from the visitors center and follow the explicit instructions about the preservation of the area! It's also very easy to get lost without the access of trails so I brought a GPS and that made all the difference!

Beautiful view from here and definitely worth the early rise to watch the sunrise.

Pro- tip: Make a u-turn once you get to the parking lot and then start driving back down the road and park off to the side once you see the Speed Limit sign change back up to 40 mph. Then walk straight out into the basin and you'll find some incredible salt patterns. Be careful and respectful of the landscape, while you CAN walk anywhere in the park, try not to crush the salt formations. Enjoy!

Easy hike ending a beautiful overlook. I made the wise choice to go on a week day and didn't have to deal with overcrowding. If you can make that happen with your schedule, I suggest it!

I enjoyed the view on the easy hike to the caves and while I understood the warnings about entering I had to do it anyways. It's pretty surreal to walk inside with a beautiful waterfall near the back of it. I definitely recommend this hike with- with some caution of course!

Absolutely love the hike and the view. I feel it's a must if you visit Zion, even if you have a fear of heights you should still give it a shot! Once you're standing at the top it will all be worth it.

An easier hike in Zion which leads to a pretty big crowd, but the falls and pools are beautiful and worth the trip!

This was the exact route I took when I did my overnight backpack to Bright Angel Campground and I couldn't agree more about the suggestion of going down the South Kaibab trail first. It's definitely my favorite way to get to the Colorado River and it offers unparalleled views of the canyon as you're making your way down. Unfortunately I only stayed at the bottom over night and would love to go back to spend a day exploring the bottom of the canyon!

I lived in Houston for 5 years and this really is the perfect way to feel like you've escaped the city. There are so many trails to choose from whether you're biking or hiking. Though I will say bug spray is super necessary during the muggy months.
A short, steep hike that lends some spectacular views of the canyon and overlaying land of Big Bend. I wish there was a way to get in the canyon on foot, but I'll just have to plan a canoeing trip to do that!

Enchanted Rock is awesome! Though it can be a very popular destination on the weekends and the trails can be overloaded with people. I suggested doing a hike to watch the sunrise, you beat the heat and the people (just don't forget a head lamp). Also if it's raining they will shut down the trail to the top because the granite becomes so slippery, so keep that in mind if you want to visit during inclimate weather.

By far one of the most scenic views I've done in Texas. Big Bend is an incredible park and this hike to the South Rim of the Chisos is one of the best in the park. I did the whole hike in one day, but I recommend splitting it up and back country camping in the mountains if you have time.

One of the most memorable hikes I've ever done. I went during February and was the only person on the trail- though I wasn't prepared for how cold the water would be. I would recommend getting some Neoprene socks or dry pants if you're thinking about doing it during a colder season.

Simply stunning lake. We made the extra mileage to Panorama Ridge and it was definitely worth it. This should be on everyone's BC bucket list.

I loved the afternoon I spent climbing here! We got here a little late on a weekend afternoon so didn't have many spots to pick from, so gettig here a bit early is key to find some versatile routes!
