The drive on the Road to Hana is stunning, winding through the rainforest with lots of stops for food and for gorgeous views. Make sure to put aside the majority of the day, as it's quite long and the road is windy, so you'll want to take your time. I agree with Brian - we went the whole way around, and though it's interesting at first, the road gets difficult and there aren't many stops after the Seven Sacred Pools (this was my favourite stop on the way through though!). I recommend turning around here and heading back. Try to leave early to beat the traffic, as it's very popular! Mahalo!

A fantastic little hike in West Vancouver. There are some stunning views from here of Stanley Park. If you can make it for sunset, the views are amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

I was here for sunset once a few years back - amazing! You can really spend the whole day here at the beach then enjoy the end of the day with sunset. Highly recommend if you're in Tofino!

I loved this area - it's quite spacious and lush. The swimming area is huge and the beach is beautiful. Definitely enjoyed stopping here for lunch!

Wedding Cake Rock is a great place to visit in Royal National Park, offering amazing views of the surrounding ocean. If you get there in the morning, the colours are the best since the sun is hitting the cliff face. I recommend if you have time and energy extending your walk as well, as the Coast Walk offers spectacular views down the track of more gorgeous coves and cliffs. Due to the unstable cliffs, unfortunately they've fenced off the rock! Rangers patrol the area and give out fines to anyone who jumps the fence. There are some lookouts to the rock, but I would be wary as it's a long way down! I also recommend going there early if you want to visit the rock since it can get very busy. When I was there in the morning (I did an out-and-back), I only saw a few people but by 2pm on my way back there were groups of people, some blasting music, as they were walking. Thanks for the trailhead, as I was about to go to the wrong area on my way!

Such a great, classic hike! It's definitely popular, and can be busy (hence only 4 stars) but still totally worth it - and what a workout.. The view from the top is unbelievable as well - pack a lunch and enjoy it if you have time!

Rice lake is definitely nice if you live close, but there are some great places to walk in North Vancouver, such as the Lynn Valley Loop or a section of the Baden Powell trail that offer even better views and more seclusion.

We drove past the signs for Brandywine a million times on the way back home before stopping once and realized what we had been missing. It's a great place to stretch your legs and appreciate some nature before you're back in the car!

Though this is a cool place to see, I don't find it overly interesting. The history surrounding the area is definitely cool, but it's a very quick stop outside the city. If you're interested in visiting, you can make a beach day out of it as there are beaches closer to the foot of Bay Street.

This is a great walk for anyone! We saw families there going up and down the stairs, which are easy to find and accessible. It can be a bit busy since it's a popular destination, but well worth it to see! The views you get on the way down to the ocean are unbelievable as well. If you're looking to do some more walking at the end of the hike, there are some other walks that leave from the parking lot, including the walk to Bushrangers Bay and the walk to Gunamatta Beach.

The Cairns Esplanade is a great place to come and relax but it is quite busy through the night! We never got to use the bbq stations, but they were always packed. Since you can't swim in the water around Cairns because of the crocodiles/stingers, the Esplanade is a great trade with the pool they've created overlooking the water and surrounding mountains. I recommend giving it a visit since it's right in the heart of the city! The walkway is a great place for runs, as the boardwalk running through it heads north for several kms.

Great town with such a laid back vibe. We usually stay at Surfers Junction, which is between the towns of Tofino and Uculet. I've seen more than a few black bears around the campsites, so make sure to lock up your stuff! There are tons of great beaches in Tofino - it's a great place to visit any time of year.

A group of us did this hike in the winter on snowshoes. We took the same route, following the trail up to the Elfin Lakes Shelter and stayed there for the night since it does take a little extra time in the snow. The shelter has beds on the top floor sleeping 33 people, which you can book out. Great change up to the usual hike!

A beautiful hike outside the city with amazing views throughout. It gets quite cold at the top and the weather is sporadic, so make sure to bring another layer. We started this hike on a sunny day in summer and when we got to the top it started pouring ice cold rain!

Growing up in North Vancouver, I did this hike lots in the summer! It's a great quick hike with a beautiful lookout at the end.

Amazing hike in the middle of the Victorian Alps. We did this as a circuit backpacking trip and stayed at Federation Hut (which sits below Mt Feathertop) then did a second night after walking along The Razorback/Bon Accord Spur at Ovens River. The hike was well-marked and had some great viewpoints, though some of the second day was blanketed in fog. Highly recommend this hike!
