Absolutely love this part of Good Water trail. We did about 4 miles to Sawyer camp out and back. We met some people there that brought materials to improve the campsite. New poles, fire pits, and metal picnic tables...three of each. We plan to do the whole trail on a weekend through hike for our 50 mile challenge and this will be our first campsite to stop at.

See photos for our primitive emergency tent on first night at Lost Maples West trail and loop. There are other primitive campsites. One is no longer an overnight site due to flash floods. Another is at the top of the steep incline going from East-West trail to the East trail. Two over 50 women making this climb was a little ruff. had to stop for a break about halfway. But we made it! It was definitely worth getting up there to get to the primitive site. A little bummed because a really bad thunderstorm came in so we opted to go back to basecamp.

Enjoyed this hike for the beautiful scenery. Day one of three in April was on this trail. It was a good choice for an extended stay as it wasn't too strenuous. See pictures and other trails for more details.

Vista Knoll, Cactus trail-This hike was nice and is really great for a beginner. Trails are well mparked and easy to follow. If you are a more advanced hiker, you only need a small day pack with water and snacks. The view is beautiful overlooking the San Gabriel River. I will be going back for the more difficult trail, Quarry Canyon Trail.
