Sr. Manager, Strategy, Store, and Business Planning

The Senior Manager - Strategy, Store & Business Planning is responsible for business planning, store planning, strategic support and reporting/system implementation for the Direct to Consumer group (ecommerce, Factory Outlet, and Specialty Retail Stores). The Senior Manager will report to the Director of Planning, Strategy & Allocation and support building strategic direction for the growing organization. This position will be responsible for preparation and analysis of financial plans, build store plans and KPIs, as well as establish control-related standards and procedures.


  • In season business management- Drives top line sales and productivity as well as MMU. Manages to budget to team’s expense related items.  Plan, drive and monitor the business.

  • Pre-season business planning- Leads store plans and KPIs for the full business across channels. Partners with planning leads on revenue plans, sales, margin, days, & turnover targets. Partner with planners, merchandising, allocation, ecommerce team, and marketing team to develop and execute consistent strategies.  Directs the store ranking process by groups to aid planners and merchants in buys by category. Analyze business results to measure progress and to determine needed adjustments to future season strategies.

  • Business Organization- Develops and maintains necessary store planning reports for key components of sales, inventory levels and turnover.  Creates new reports as needed.  Evaluates and recommends enhancements to tools and systems used to drive the ecommerce and retail business. Drives partnerships across the organization to implement needed changes. Works across VFC to determine best practices and maximize workflow.

  • Strategic Lead- Supports strategic planning, projects and special initiatives, prepares test cases, analyzes business trends and coordinates product needs between planners and allocators to achieve sales and profitability objectives. Determine ROI on potential DTC partnerships and new initiatives.  Find new ways to drive and grow the DTC business. Partners on big data to deliver well thought out and clearly articulated presentations to the executive team.

  • Store Planning- Create WEA’s and proformas to evaluate future location opportunities.


  • 4+ years or related experience in Store Planning or Strategy role. Specialty & Outlet retail at a multi-store level a must
  • Ecommerce Experience Preferred
  • MBA Preferred
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with an emphasis on building partnerships, managing conflict and negotiating
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop staff to improve performance and achieve professional goals
  • Ability to inspire confidence, respect, enthusiasm and cooperation
  • Superior computer skills required; Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to develop high level strategic plans and manage the detailed follow-thru
  • Create well thought out and clear executive summaries
