The primary responsibility of the Operations Manager is to effectively control all aspects of the store’s daily operations. With this, the Operations manager is responsible for ensuring the store is managed in compliance with Brand and VF audit standards. The Operations Manager will aid in maximizing profit by increasing overall productivity through diligent management and implementation of internal process efficiencies. The Operations Manager will work in partnership with the Assistant Manager to support store, division and brand goals as dictated by the Store Manager. Establish control-related standards and procedures.
- Operations Management & HR Management: Supports the Store Manager in achieving all operational objectives including inventory management, expense control, loss prevention applications, store audit compliance; Monitor and maintain compliance of all company policies and procedures and communicate to / educate all staff members; Compliance remediation; in partnership with the store manager work to ensure all operations items that are discovered to be non-compliant through formal and informal audits are rectified appropriately and urgently; In partnership with Loss Prevention management will ensure compliance with designated store loss prevention plans; Communicates with Store Manager and/or directly to TNF corporate partners regarding physical plant, loss prevention, and inventory management issues and needs; Partners with the Store Manager in the selection and hiring of qualified candidates for the stock team.
- Merchandising Support: Supervises stock room operations and ensures shipping and receiving standards and inventory integrity are maintained; Supports warehousing of products that leads to quick and efficient restock and replenishment; Oversee the execution of the “markdowns” in a timely and accurate manner and audit to ensure compliance with value of inventory standards; Oversee the transfer of Damage and Defective (D+D) merchandise; ensure efficient and accurate processing of Warranty returned goods; Maintains a neat, organized and safe backroom.
- Customer Care and Sales Supervision: When required, act as Manager on Duty (MOD) and supervise floor coverage and activities, including opening and closing store as scheduled; Weekly Reporting as needed.
- Training and Coaching: Partners with the store manager to conduct staff training related to inventory management, POS activities, and loss prevention procedures.
Years of Related Professional Experience:
3 or more. Bachelor's degree or comparable combination of relevant education and experience Three years of related experience in a specialty retail environment, outdoor apparel industry or experience with outdoor equipment sales.
Ability to train and delegate effectively. Ability to engage and motivate a team Strong verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented. Excellent organizational skills. Proficiency with Word and Excel.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to climb and balance. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
