Work for Sierra Club
Campaign Organizing Training Internship
San Francisco, California
The Sierra Club is organizing campaigns around the country to move beyond fossil fuel and transition to clean energy. We train staff and volunteers to have the skills they to lead strategic campaigns that engage community members. These campaigns are designed to build power over time to influence decision makers to make choices that help us to achieve our long-term outcomes of having a just and sustainable future for all people and the planet.
A critical element of success in doing organizing work is to provide training to both staff and volunteers in the fundamentals of community organizing. We are looking for interns who either have experience or want to learn more about campaign organizing and training volunteers.
We are also looking for skills in working on webinar content, writing, editing, producing documents, online collaborative tools, web design and excel dashboards and data analysis.
Internships are available during the Summer, Fall, and Spring terms. Deadlines are as follows:
Fall Application Period: August 15 - September 30 Spring Application Period: November 15-January 10 Summer Application Period: April 1 to May 15
A minimum 20 hours is required to be scheduled at your discretion, although it would be preferred if you work regular full days rather than half days. We apologize, but due to funding changes, this is now an unfunded internship. Two internship positions are available at this time. We are willing to provide any documentation necessary to help students get credit.
