We are looking for a full time Product Manager to join our team at our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you'll be responsible for these essential functions:

  • Develop criteria for new products including requirements, features, product ecosystem strategy and product lifecycle strategy
  • Develop thorough market, customer and competitive analysis as inputs to the products and services design process
  • Work closely with Engineering, Sales and Marketing to develop product roadmaps that satisfy the objectives of the segment business plan
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Operations, and Packaging to ensure supply chain requirements are satisfied
  • Coordinate between marketing and other departments in the development of product documentation, product training materials, specifications, packaging, collateral material, and accessories
  • Provide training and assist regional sales managers in understanding the product line and provide them with assistance in winning acceptance at dealers
  • Collaborate with product marketing to effectively introduce products, coordinate advertising, participate in trade shows and other key activities during the life cycle of the product
  • Provide inputs to the marketing forecast and coordinate overall product transition plans when phasing out obsolete products
  • Attend industry tradeshows, customer meetings and other events as required


  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Marketing, or a related engineering or marketing field
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
  • Minimum of five years experience in engineering, product management, and/or product development performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description
  • Must demonstrate a strong passion for Garmin, including its mission, products, values and success
  • Must demonstrate a strong aptitude for consumer electronics devices
  • Exemplary judgment regarding product usability, customer expectations, and creative product tradeoffs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to present data and product recommendations to engineering and marketing/sales management
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Excellent proficiency using MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
