Executive Producer

Position Summary:

The Executive Producer oversees production, direction, music and sound design, editing, motion graphics and photography. The Executive Producer will be responsible for personnel, training, process and equipment. Collaborates with the Global Creative Director to deliver industry leading creative video campaigns produced at the highest levels in a cost effective manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Organizes and leads cross-functional teams to plan and deliver strategically-focused video productions which meet project and organizational objectives
  • Serves as producer for exceedingly complex projects and delivers innovative solutions
  • Leverages knowledge of multiple creative disciplines to evaluate proposed or ongoing video production and programs or projects
  • Shares information cross-departmentally and cross-functionally to enable others to achieve objectives in the area of video production
  • Serves as leader for demonstrating effective time management, organizational, and follow up skills with a keen attention to detail and quality
  • Demonstrates creativity when executing on deliverables
  • Demonstrates and exceptional ability to mentor and train others
  • Contributes to the development of new tools, equipment, and processes for digital video production
  • Participate in evaluation of proposed or ongoing projects/programs
  • Exemplifies Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve

Other Responsibilities:

  • Stay abreast of digital technology, video and film developments
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned


  • Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English or a similar from a four year college or university AND a minimum of 8 years substantially similar experience
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrates a successful track record in managing exceedingly complex problems and providing successful video solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
  • Demonstrated experience with architecting solutions for multiple groups and/or disciplines
  • Proven experience in providing guidance, strategy, and conflict resolution with senior leadership
  • Demonstrates a passion for and proven track record in effective development and implementation of Communications strategies
  • Demonstrates a consistent focus on accountability and achievement of project delivery
  • Success in building and managing production teams and developing talent
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess business situations and recommend suggestions for improving business results and execution of departmental strategies
