Camp Thunderbird for Girls seeks female trip leaders who are kind-hearted, adventurous, and experienced outdoor enthusiasts to lead 13 and 14-year-old teen trips throughout the Upper Mid-West and Great Lakes region. Trip Leaders arrive at camp in Bemidji, MN, for training in early June, and engage with campers in mid-June. Leaders guide campers in pre-trip conditioning and preparing trip gear, and then on progressively longer backpacking, biking, or canoe trips throughout the summer, culminating in a seven to nine-day backcountry experience. Trips range throughout the Superior Hiking Trail, Porcupine Mountains, Ontario Wilderness, the Apostle Islands Lake Shore, Boundary Waters, and Voyageurs National Park. • Trip leading/ backcountry experience • Experience in working with teenagers • Clean driving record • Willingness to work as part of a strong community both in and out of camp • Currently hold or willingness to become certified in WFR, WFA, and/or Lifeguarding (May obtain certification before arriving at camp or at camp prior to campers’ arrival)
