An east coast transplant exploring the wild and wonderful PNW ⇞

Great directions :) I did this as a loop from Dark Hollow Falls (with much more people as your review says) down around to Rose River Falls, and then we followed a horse trail back around the Dark Hollow Falls parking area. I wish I had had more time to enjoy Rose River Falls but unfortunately a lot of people showed up right after us that were so loud and crude, we couldn't stand to listen to them for a minute longer! I will be going back soon though to try to enjoy the waterfall with some peace and quiet.

After seeing some of your pictures for this adventure it quickly rose to the top of my list. We were lucky and didn't encounter too many people. The trees in the valley were green but the rest of the mountains had yet to come alive again. Regardless, the hike was beautiful. A few times it looked like the trail went off in the wrong direction but as long as you pay close attention to the blazes you won't get lost. Great review!

Great directions! I've had quite a few people tell me in the last year that they have been given fines for having open campfires around the lake so beware of that. Also, if you have a canoe or kayak you can cross the lake from either the boat ramp or Skidmore Fork road and find a whole bunch of campsites lining the opposite side that are seldom used. Also- beautiful pictures!

Great details for driving there, I almost got lost on my way. The beginning of the hike is a pretty straight shot uphill but then walking a ridge line for the remainder of the hike was a real treat with views every couple hundred feet. If you do this hike again you can also add Tibbet Knob with starts from the same parking lot but just goes south. The hike is much more secluded with just as great views and there are a few rock scrambles! Great hike, great directions. Thanks Sarah :)
